Joseph is as passionate about ecosystems as he is about animals. His process focuses on zooming out a little to capture the wider habitat, drawing viewers into the scene and allowing them to imagine themselves out there watching the behaviour for themselves. He aims to make animals the subject in a scene rather than isolating them in a portrait. He always seeks atmosphere and context over pin sharp details creating connection with the subject and an urge to be out in nature viewing the scene for yourself.
